The Huracan is Here!
After 14,000 total units, over 20 variants, and nearly a decade of production time, the era of Gallardo has come to a close. This is it’s replacement. Click for a stormy video!
On a personal note, if you’re reading this, it’s likely that you have a “bedroom poster” car. You know what I mean: that one you always bring up in lottery-winning conversations, the one who’s engine note you can hear perfectly in your mind. Well, the Gallardo is it for me. While I could spend hours, day or weeks agonizing over which special edition to pick up, all-wheel or rear-wheel, grigio telestra or giallo midas, I’d truly be happy with a base, 2003 Gallardo with a gated shifter.
But, the children in us have nothing to fear! A new poster-child is trailing close behind the outgoing Gallardo. Meet the Huracan!
Sure, it’s got it’s critics. Too bland, they say. It slots in nicely against the Aventador, from not only a stylistic perspective but also in price, power and handling. A worthy Gallardo replacment in my eyes. Surely there is also potential for special editions, and room for aesthetic enhancements.
